 In 1999 I began breeding
towards a goal to produce outstanding shortcoats carrying longhair
genes, hoping that I could produce longhairs that would be strong
competitors against the top shortcoats in Australia. My C litter
produced 6 shortcoats, 3 carrying longhair genes. Three of the six
became outstanding show dogs winning royals, best in groups, in
shows and Australian champions. Three were also great gundogs. My D
litter produced only 3 pups all carrying longhair gene as mum was a
longhair and 2 were longhairs. Two of these became Australian
champions, 1 of which stayed with me. My E litter produced 6 pups a
mixture of 3 longhair and 3 carriers. Four are already titled, most
with royal wins, 3 being Aust champion and a fourth Ned Kamp and
world winner in Europe. My F litter - a repeat of E produced 5 pups.
One is already titled and a royal winner, another 2 are on the way.
My G litter brought in a new import Am Aust ch Nani N Greydove
Milenium Bug and produced 8 pups all shortcoat and a couple carrying
longhair gene. Two of these are being shown, one is about to title
and the other won best intermediate bitch at Royal Melbourne 2003.
My H litter produced 4 pups. Two have show potential and it is hoped
they will be shown in 2004 My I litter produced 11 pups all
carriers. They are from a G and D litter mating and Phantom and
Kimba are the result with Storm and Tim and Otto looking very
exciting but whether the owners will show these remains to be seen.
Kimba is a big bitch 24 - 24.5 inches at the shoulder Phantom is a
strong and long dog: 26.5 at shoulder but nearer 29 in length. To me
they depict the standard of being obviously male and obviously
female. It will be interesting to see what judges make of in my mind
such an outstanding weimaraner. My J litter produced 7 pups and 2 of
the longhairs from this are in the ring both are titled and again an
obvious male female type of longhair. |
