I had my first wei as a kid - NZ Ch Garmische
Waldmeister (IMP Aust). He sired a couple of litters including
NZ Ch Gunmetal Ritva who is featured in Weimaraner Ways.
Kaiser was a fantastic swimmer and retriever and was from the
famous Aust Ch Greymar Noble Monarch. We called him Kaiser which
meant king. His dam was Trawalla Samantha. She was owned by a German
hunter and I remember our first visit there well. Kaiser died of
bloat in 1978 aged six.
We replaced him with a grandson of Ch Greymar
Noble Monarch. This boy was Aust Ch Weiyelka Pangari and was
from Aust Ch Greymar Rajah Corey. Unfortunately we lost him to auto
immune disease at two years old. He had massive blood transfusions
and everything but died in my arms one night. We called him
Prinz.
After that I researched pedigrees to find out
more about bloat and autoimmune disease and eventually bought a
bitch and a dog that I considered had no known history. Both were
from hunting lines.
 The girl was Aust Ch Silberuss Blanche CD
and she is the foundation for both my kennels as well as Silbersee
kennels. I named her Ruschka. Her male counterpart and also
foundation of mine and Silbersee kennels was Gunesh Silver Karn
(Ben).
They produced our A and B litter. We didn't keep
any pups from these litters as we were in town and only allowed two
dogs. Then our children came along so we had a sort of puppy
break.
Those litters were born in August 1985 and March
1987. As Ruschka had to have a caesar to get the last two pups out
(both dead) we decided to desex her after that. She had 9 live in
the first litter and 8 live and 2 dead in the second.
 Grausturm Aurora went to live with the
people who are now Silbersee kennels and produced their A and B
litters. Ch Silbersee Amberley (Aurora's daughter sired by
Aust Ch Bromhund Ultra Special "Major") produced
their C litter of which we ended up with one pup who became one of
our new foundations. This was Aust Ch Silbersee Clever Clogs
(Misty). Just prior to this we got another girl, our first
longhair Ch Smokeydees Boundfr Glory
(Shadow).
